The latest episodes of “The Last Dance” heavily featured Chicago Bulls bad boy Dennis Rodman. Fans have been hearing some great (and not so great) narratives about him as of late, but one that stands out is a tribute from none other than Denver Nuggets legend and NBA Hall of Famer Alex English.

According to the eight-time All-Star, he considers Rodman to be the best defender he's ever had to face in his career. English led the league in points per game at one point in his career, so the fact that he was such a gifted scorer only means that he had the opportunity to face more than a few formidable defenders during his time in the NBA.

Alex English played in the NBA between 1976 and 1991, with majority of his career with the Nuggets. Dennis Rodman joined the league in 1986 after being selected in the second round by the Detroit Pistons. This gave the two a five-year window to face off against each other on the basketball court.

It was also during the “Bad Boy” era of the Pistons, and there's no denying that Rodman was at the very thick of the action.

It could be argued that this was at the peak of Rodman's prowess as a defender, having won back-to-back NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards in 1990 and 1991. English was at the tail end of his career at that point, so he had definitely lost a step or two. Nevertheless, this type of high praise coming from one of the most prolific scorers we've ever seen in English has to speak volumes of what type of effect Rodman had on his opponents.
