Lonzo quoted Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in celebrating LiAngelo's NBA contract. The New Orleans Pelicans guard knows how tedious Gelo's NBA journey has been. From not being selected in the 2018 NBA Draft to not being able to play in the G League due to the pandemic, it has been a tough road for the middle Ball brother.
However, the Ball family kept their faith and did not give up.

LaMelo, who was selected third overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the recent NBA Draft, also gave his older brother much love. Via Instagram, LaMelo posted a series of stories in celebration of his older brother's signing. First are two photos of the Ball brothers donning their respective NBA jerseys:
After which, Melo also posted a photo with their father LaVar, who once vowed that all three of his sons will make it to the NBA. With LiAngelo's signing, he has fulfilled this promise.
Given that it's a one-year non-guaranteed deal, LiAngelo Ball still has lots to do in the coming days. Unlike his brothers who have a pretty secure spot on their respective teams, LiAngelo has to work double-time to prove his worth.
The Ball family has also proven that the NCAA or the draft isn't the only road to the NBA. LaMelo skipped college ball, played overseas, and was still a top prospect. LiAngelo, for his part, showed that the dream didn't end when he wasn't selected.
