Nikola Jokic and Jayson Tatum have been named the NBA's Players of the Week.

Jokic averaged 27.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists as the Denver Nuggets went 3-0. Tatum, meanwhile, put up 29.8 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Boston Celtics went 4-0:

Both the Nuggets and Celtics are playing like title contenders this season. Denver is in a second-place tie with the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference standings, while Boston is in third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Jokic is averaging 20.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists on the season. He's shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc and 80.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Nuggets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the 2019 playoffs. The team is eager to take the next step this season and reach the Western Conference Finals, potentially ruining an all-LA conference finals between the Lakers and Clippers.

Tatum is going to his first All-Star Game this season. The talented swingman is averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Celtics and shooting 44.1 percent from the floor, 38.7 percent from the 3-point line and 83.5 percent from the charity stripe.

The Celtics appear on their way to going on a deep postseason run with Kemba Walker leading the way. Boston lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in last year's playoffs in five games.
