Gilbert Arenas was at one point, one of the most electrifying players in the NBA. Arenas was a dominant offensive player for a few years with the Washington Wizards. Agent Zero went to three straight All-Star Games at one point and during that three-year stretch, he averaged 27.7 points per game.

But after the 2006-07 season, Arenas' game steadily declined. He never regained his form and unfortunately, fans didn't get to see the Agent Zero that once dropped 60 points against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite his decline in play, Arenas still got paid.

Secure your bag, Gilbert! Making $63 million for 17 games qualifies Gilbert Arenas for the finesse hall of fame. That is an inordinate amount of money to be paid for appearing in a mere 17 games.

By 2012, Arenas' stock had never been lower, but it didn't matter. The contract was signed and the checks were still coming in.

Arenas' fall from grace was about much more than a decline in play though. He was involved in an infamous locker room altercation involving firearms after a dispute with teammate Javaris Crittenton. Arenas would eventually receive a suspension for the remainder of the 2009-10 season.

Despite his suspension, once Arenas was reinstated, the checks continued to roll in. Although Arenas won't complain about getting paid, it's a bit sad that he became such a pariah that teams were willing to pay him to stay away from the team.
