Former NBA small forward Matt Barnes, now a year removed from his last stint in the league, revealed he smoked marijuana before every game.

The former Golden State Warriors wing recently appeared on Van Lathan’s “Red Pill Podcast,” and confirmed what many thought might be going on behind the scenes.

“We’d have shootaround at 11, I’d be done by 12, back to the house by 12:30,” Matt Barnes said. “Roll a joint, smoke it. Take a nap, wake up, eat, shower, and go to the game.”

Barnes has never been shy about admitting his infatuation for weed, as he took center stage during Bleacher Report's 4/20 special — explaining the effects and traits of the recreational drug, as well as the medicinal ones, now considered a savant when it comes to use.

His admission of drug use is only one of many for former professional athletes, especially considering the constant push to normalize the use of recreational and medicinal drugs in pro sports.

Matt Barnes played for nine NBA teams over the course of his 14-year career in the league, which ended with a championship with the Warriors in 2017, going full circle after spending two years of his early career in the Bay Area.

He remains an interesting character.
