Paul Pierce has been on record saying that he doesn't believe LeBron James is a top-five NBA player of all time.

Now, following the Los Angeles Lakers' Game 1 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Pierce is once again coming for James' neck.

As expected, NBA Twitter ripped Paul Pierce for his latest hot take on LeBron James.

The Boston Celtics legend then explained his side, claiming he's just keeping things real and that he's not a LeBron hater.

James has never lost in the first round of the playoffs during his Hall of Fame career. Even though the Lakers looked lousy against the Blazers in Game 1, fans have seen LeBron-led teams in the past bounce back after losing the first game of a playoff series.

The rivalry between Pierce and James dates back to LeBron's first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics and Cavs had plenty of battles in the NBA playoffs, and Pierce and James were usually matched up against each other.

The intensity between The Truth and The King only increased when James went to the Miami Heat. It was a fun beef to track back in the day, but Pierce is certainly being ignorant when he says LeBron isn't a top-five player of all time. After all, James is the only player in NBA history to rank top-10 all-time in points and assists and he's only going to continue to climb the ladder.

Moving forward, James and the Lakers will look to quiet their critics by asserting their dominance and winning the series over the Blazers. Game 2 is on Thursday.
