LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and several other NBA stars couldn't help but express their dismay over the landmark Supreme Court ruling that overturns Roe v. Wade.

The Roe v. Wade overturn decision, which has already been leaked in early May, was made official on Friday to the dismay of several American citizens, athletes, celebrities and politicians alike. With the ruling, the constitutional right for an abortion is now gone and states are now free to implement their own abortion laws without conflicting with Roe. Previously, abortions are permitted during the first two trimesters of pregnancy.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were among the first NBA stars to react to the news, with James highlighting that it is all about power and control in the end, and Irving pleading to help protect women at all costs.

The NBA and WNBA also released a joint statement vowing to continue promoting gender and health equity, as well as accessible reproductive health care regardless of the situation.

Other NBA stars soon followed suit, with the likes of Ja Morant, Josh Hart and Anfernee Simons sharing their disappointment with the news. Hart even apologized to all the women in the US who are set to be denied with their freedom and rights because of the Roe v. Wade overturn.

Jaren Jackson Jr. and Tyrese Halburton also pointed out how the decision is a huge steps backwards for the nation, especially when it comes to women's rights.

While it is not a shocking decision given the earlier leaks, clearly it doesn't make it less devastating for several people.
