There were some massive changes at ESPN on Wednesday as the network announced that Rachel Nichols would be removed from all NBA programming following her incident with Maria Taylor during the NBA Playoffs. ESPN is also canceling The Jump, which has been a fan-favorite program for many years.

Nichols quickly reacted to the news and expressed her gratitude for holding such a great position at ESPN:

Nichols clearly has her next job already lined up considering the “more to come” comment at the end of the tweet. ESPN has said she will remain with the network, but officials haven't revealed what her next role will be.

The Jump was on air for a total of five years and became one of the most entertaining NBA shows on ESPN. Nichols was joined by many former players, with Richard Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins most recently accompanying her.

There wasn't any anger in Rachel Nichols' post though, which is a good sign. ESPN also said a new NBA afternoon show will be released ahead of the brand new 2021-22 campaign.

As for Taylor, well, she got the last laugh. Following the conclusion of the NBA Finals, she jetted for NBC Sports and even appeared on-air during the Tokyo Olympics.
