The great Shaquille O'Neal has spoken out about his now-viral video of randomly paying for a young man's engagement ring in a Zales store. Being the generous man that he is, Shaq humbly acknowledged the gesture, but he also played it down so as not to make it look like he was doing it as a publicity stunt.

“I'm into making people happy,” O'Neal said. “So whenever I leave the house, I just try to do a good deed. I didn't mean for it to get out… I'm just trying to make people smile.”

The clip lasted only a couple of seconds, and it was clearly taken by what appears to be a random witness of Shaq's generosity. As O'Neal expressed in his message, he did not mean for this to get out.

Shaquille O'Neal is one of the wealthiest personalities in the NBA today. Aside from the fortune he made during his playing days, Shaq is also a pretty savvy entrepreneur, with his portfolio spread across a number of profitable business ventures.

The Hall of Fame big man truly appreciates how fortunate he is to be in the position he is currently in and in his own little way (well, not too little actually), he goes out of his way to try and give back to the rest of the world.
