For NBA icon Stephon Marbury, it'll be very tough for the 2019-20 season to resume, in the event that it does.

Speaking with Marc J. Spears of ESPN, Marbury was asked if he thinks the season will resume at some point. To recall, the NBA called the season off three weeks ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Personally I think it’s going to be a really big challenge for the season to get going this year, because there is no way you can contain this the way it’s being handled right now.”

Medical experts have advised the general public to practice social distancing and to head out of their house only if needed. In light of this, Marbury added that it is not the doctors who will stop the virus' spread, but the people themselves. For the former NBA star who now works in Beijing as a coach, people would have to adjust their lifestyle so flatten the coronavirus curve.

Marbury himself is doing his part. Recently, the Brooklyn native shared his intention of using his connections in manufacturing plants in China to source the different products needed by the frontliners in New York. New York, as of this writing, has over 75,000 COVID-19 cases with 1,550 deaths.

The NBA itself hasn't declared if the season will resume. Even if it does, the consensus is that games will be held with no fans and a limited crew. But the league has made it clear that their priority is the health and well-being of everyone.
