Believe it or not, but we are halfway through the NBA offseason. It feels like an eternity since we last watched competitive and meaningful basketball in the league, but that wait is set to continue for a little while longer, as Reddit user RamRiz1302 pointed out that Monday marked 65 days since the NBA Finals, with 65 days to go until the new regular season is set to commence.

It seems as though this last part of the offseason will be largely uneventful and painfully long. That’s because all the major deals, breaking trades and free-agent signings have already transpired.

The biggest move saw superstar small forward LeBron James swap Ohio for Hollywood, as he made his way from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a move that broke the internet, with each passing day edging closer to seeing the four-time MVP in the purple and gold threads in a competitive game.

The other big signing that shook the world was All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins choosing to sign with the Golden State Warriors on a $5.3 million deal for one year. Already as stacked as we’ve ever seen any team, the Warriors added Cousins for a bargain in a position they were always the weakest in. Now, after Cousins’ returns from an Achilles injury hopefully around December, the Warriors will boast five All-Stars on the court at the same time.

The biggest trade this summer came out of Texas, as Kawhi Leonard finally forced his way out of the San Antonio Spurs. He was traded to the Toronto Raptors, and the Spurs received DeMar DeRozan in exchange for the former Defensive Player of the Year.

Since the Leonard trade the breaking news has settled a little, but Carmelo Anthony is the latest story with his switch to the Houston Rockets becoming official Monday.

All in all, it has been nothing short of a wild offseason, but unfortunately there is still plenty of time left in it.
