Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, despite not playing in the bubble with the downtrodden 2019-20 version of the team, has been keeping himself busy now that basketball is back on TNT’s NBA Tip-Off.

On Saturday, after the award finalists were announced for MVP, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, Sixth Man of the Year, Coach of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, Green chimed in with his choice for who should win MVP:

“I'm going with LeBron [James],” Green said on TNT's “NBA Tip-Off” Saturday, via the Score. “I think the year LeBron has had and resurrecting that Lakers franchise, I think that has to stand for something.”

Indeed, King James has had yet another terrific season in a career that is resplendent with brilliant year after brilliant year. LBJ has led the league in minutes played on three occasions and was the league’s leading scorer in the 2007-08 season.

Now, in his 17th season, he is leading the entire NBA in assists per game with a striking 10.3 per game.

Though his scoring is down by 2.1 points per game, there is a notable reason for that: James is playing with one of the best teammates he’s ever played with in Anthony Davis, and Davis stuffs the stat sheet like few other players in the NBA.

Despite that, there can be no denying that the team’s clear-cut leader is LeBron James, and he has looked extremely sprightly at age 35 this season—helping to improve the Lakers win total by 14 and counting this season.

Though the all-encompassing brilliance of Giannis Antetokounmpo will likely be too much for MVP voters to ignore, at least Draymond Green made his feelings on the matter clear.
