The Milwaukee Bucks are set to face off with the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. It's the perfect time to continue with our NBA odds series and make a Bucks-Pistons prediction and pick.

After a dramatic victory in the NBA Finals, expectations were high for the Bucks. They've fallen far short of those expectations to start the season, earning a 3-4 record through seven contests. That includes losses to the likes of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs, two teams that Milwaukee should have easily beaten. The Pistons also fall into that category. They're the only one-win team left in the Eastern Conference, and they have a strong argument for being the worst roster in the NBA. The Bucks haven't been perfect against bad teams this season, so the chance for an upset is real here.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Bucks-Pistons odds.

NBA Odds: Bucks-Pistons Odds

Milwaukee Bucks: -4.5 (-106)

Detroit Pistons: +4.5 (-114)

Why The Bucks Can Cover The Spread

Milwaukee is a vastly superior roster to Detroit, even when taking injures into account. The presence of Giannis Antetokounmpo is obviously enough to change a game, and that should happen in this one. Detroit has been torched by opposing big men lately, as they've allowed more than twenty points to John Collins, Joel Embiid, and Kevin Durant in three of their last four games. Detroit has also given up 110 or more points in each of their last four games. This is a plus matchup for nearly any offense in the NBA, and the Bucks are no exception.

Despite their struggles to open the season, the Bucks have retained their defensive identity. They held the Brooklyn Nets to 104 points in the season opener and just held the Utah Jazz to 107 points in a loss. Detroit is one of the worst offensive teams in the league, as they've only hit 110 points once this season. The Pistons have been held under 100 points a whopping three times this season, ending two of those games with less than 90 points. This is not an intimidating offense, so Milwaukee shouldn't have too much trouble on the defensive end of things.

Why The Pistons Can Cover The Spread

While the Pistons can't keep up with Milwaukee in terms of talent, they certainly have the better end of things when it comes to injury. The entire Bucks starting lineup except for Antetokounmpo will miss this contest. Guys like Jordan Nwora and Semi Ojeleye will have to play big roles in this game despite their third-string status, as even backup guard Grayson Allen may miss this game with injury. Even the Pistons should be able to put up a fight against what is essentially the Milwaukee B-team.

Home court advantage has been kind to Detroit this season. The Pistons opened the year with a brutal road trip, losing every single one of their first four contests. Their only win of the season came at home after the road trip. Milwaukee has been good on the road, but playing away from home without four key starters is rarely a recipe for success. Detroit has a great chance to defend their home court in this one.

Final Bucks-Pistons Prediction & Pick

This is always a tough spot to pick in. It's nearly impossible to predict how well Milwaukee will play without four starters, so the Pistons are the safe bet here. Take Detroit to cover in this one.

Final Bucks-Pistons Pick: Detroit Pistons +4.5 (-114)
