The NBA regular season continues with games on Monday. The Toronto Raptors will hit the road and take on the Atlanta Hawks. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Raptors-Hawks prediction and pick.

These two teams have had very similar starts to the season in terms of record. The Raptors are 24-23 and are coming off a solid win, while the Hawks are 24-25 and have won their last seven games.

Why The Raptors Could Cover The Spread

The Raptors have had a roller-coaster ride of a season so far. Like every team in the league, they have had to deal with injuries and COVID-19 absences, but it seems like they are mostly over the hump in that regard.

Toronto is coming off a win in one of the most exciting games of the regular season. The Raptors took down the Miami Heat by four points in a triple-overtime thriller, and they will now look to carry that momentum into this game against a streaking Hawks squad.

Every single member of Toronto's starting lineup played at least 54 minutes in that game, so that will be something to monitor in this one. The Raptors have been playing a short rotation, but they did at least get a day off and have basically all of their main guys playing. Toronto's starting lineup featuring Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam is rather dynamic.

Meanwhile, the Hawks will be playing the second of a back-to-back and could be without Trae Young, who just got listed as questionable with a right shoulder contusion. If Young doesn't play, that would be a huge boost for Toronto.

Why The Hawks Could Cover The Spread

The Hawks have been all over the place this season. Atlanta looked dead in the water not too long ago, but much like last season, this team has flipped a switch to turn things around. The Hawks have won their last seven games, with their most recent victory coming over the Los Angeles Lakers by eight.

Atlanta used another offensive explosion to beat Los Angeles. The Hawks scored 38 points in the fourth quarter to get to 129 points, and they finally got enough stops to keep the Lakers at bay. Trae Young led the way with 36 points and 12 assists, and he got plenty of help as Atlanta shot over 58% from the field. This Hawks team boasts one of the best offenses in the NBA thanks to Young's brilliance.

Young's status will play a key role for Atlanta. If the star point guard winds up playing, the Hawks have a great chance to cover the spread and also make it eight wins in a row. If he doesn't, it will be much more difficult, though Atlanta has a deep roster.

Final Raptors-Hawks Prediction & Pick

This really does come down to Young's status, so keep an eye on that as the game approaches. If you're feeling confident about his status, go with Atlanta. The line flipping from the Hawks as a favorite to the Raptors is interesting, though, so maybe the oddsmakers know something. We're going to go with Atlanta here, but this is a situation worth monitoring.

FINAL RAPTORS-HAWKS PICK:  Atlanta Hawks +1.5 (-112)
