The Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons play in inter-conference matchup on Friday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Warriors-Pistons prediction and pick.

The Warriors and Pistons will battle on Friday as each team is coming off a win in their previous game. Golden State will look to remain the hottest team in the NBA, while they may be missing a big piece for this contest. The Warriors come in as solid favorites over Detroit despite being on the second half of a road back-to-back on Friday. Golden State beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night as Stephen Curry went for 40 points and made nine three-pointers.

Why The Warriors Can Cover The Spread

Golden State enters plan on Friday with a 13-2 record and the best net rating in the NBA. The Warriors are first in the NBA in defensive efficiency, allowing just 98.8 points per 100 possessions. Golden State has also been the best passing team in the NBA this season, as they lead the way in assist percentage and assist ratio. Stephen Curry is averaging 29.5 points and 5.7 made threes per game so far this season. The 5.7 three-point makes per game would be a career high for the best shooter of all-time. Curry is also launching a career-high 13.5 three-point attempts per game, adding even more volume from deep.

Curry may not play on Friday vs. Detroit, however, as the Warriors played Thursday and he is in a bit of pain from a hard fall earlier in the week.

Obviously you will want to see Curry's final status for this game, but either way backing the Warriors isn't a bad idea. If Curry is ruled out, the line will move towards Detroit and be more favorable for those who still want to play the Warriors in the absence of  Curry.  The Warriors are 10-4-1 vs. the spread this season.

Why The Pistons Can Cover The Spread

The Pistons are 4-10 this season, but all four wins have came in their last ten games. Detroit has won three of their last five, though one of those wins was over the Houston Rockets, who have just one win this season. If Curry is out, the Pistons may be a sneaky to play to cover or even win vs. the Warriors with the rest advantage. The Pistons took down the Pacers and Raptors in the past six days, so they may be able to hang.

If Curry is in Friday night, it would seem unwise to fade the 13-2 Warriors. Detroit is 6-8 vs. the spread this season.

Final Warriors-Pistons Prediction & Pick

Take the Warriors to win and cover, but wait until Curry's final status is revealed before placing any bets.
