In an effort to spice up the All-Star Weekend, the NBA decided to make some changes to the Rising Stars format. Aside from the new four-team, single elimination tournament, the league added a new event: the Clorox Clutch Challenge. A pair of players will attempt shots from iconic places in the NBA, such as Ray Allen’s 2013 Finals shot or Magic Johnson’s baby hook.

An already interesting event got a whole lot more interesting after Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes and Sixers sophomore Tyrese Maxey took the floor for the Clutch Challenge. Words cannot do whatever they did justice, so just watch for yourself. (via Streamable)

Scottie Barnes and Tyrese Maxey’s brick-laying exhibition in the Rising Stars Challenge garnered hilarious reactions from NBA fans on Twitter. Most of the heat was on Barnes, since, well, he missed four straight baby hooks in a row. Funnily enough, that baby hook is normally one of his most effective moves in game.

Fans jokingly lamented that Barnes’ NBA Rookie of the Year stock just went down after his Rising Stars performance.

Others also pointed out how nice it was of Maxey to also miss two close-range shots of his own.

In end though, both NBA Rising Stars had a good time, as evidenced by this awesome picture.

Barnes and Maxey may have lost the Clutch Challenge, but they achieved something far greater: cementing themselves into the NBA’s Meme Hall of Fame.
