On Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks traded away their swingman Harrison Barnes to the Sacramento Kings. Ironically, Barnes was sitting on the bench in the middle of a Mavs game while the trade had occurred.

In the deal, the Mavs received Justin Jackson as well as Zach Randolph. This deal was a way for the Mavs to relieve themselves of some cap relief as well as let Barnes move on.

Just a few weeks ago the Mavs shocked the entire league by trading for Kristaps Porzingis. It took DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Mathews, Dennis Smith Jr., and two future first-round picks to acquire the up-and-coming big man. They had to take on two bad salaries in Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. in the trade.

By trading away Barnes, Dallas is going all in on the duo of Doncic and Porzingis. The two budding superstars will be one of the league's best young teammates going forward.

For the Kings, they're going all in for the playoffs. Trading for Barnes allows them to fully go after their playoff aspirations this year. Both Buddy Hield and D'Aaron Fox are having career years. Their fast-paced offense desperately needed an athletic wing who can hit from deep. Barnes is exactly that.
