The Sacramento Kings seemed to be on the verge of playoff contention after a 39-win 2018-19 season that saw massive growth from young players De'Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III.

But things have not gone well for the Kings (15-28) this season. They are five games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. As such, there have been discussions about whether Sacramento would be sellers ahead of the February trade deadline, with Bogdan Bogdanovic an especially popular name being thrown around in trade rumors.

However, as of right now it looks like the Kings are unlikely to trade Bogdanovic:

Although Bogdanovic has reportedly generated interest from teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, Ham reports the Kings are hoping to work out a “long-term” solution with him in the offseason:

According to a league source with knowledge of the situation, barring a major change in the team's thinking, the Kings are likely to hold onto Bogdanovic and try to work out a long-term solution with him over the summer. Sacramento's front office knows Bogdanovic's market value could hit the $15-18 million per year range, but they also understand the type of player he is when healthy and how important he is to the Kings franchise.

Bogdanovic has had some health issues throughout the season, but he is still one of Sacramento's more productive scorers. The 27-year-old Serbian is averaging 14.3 points, 3.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds while shooting nearly 38 percent from beyond the arc on 6.9 attempts per game.

The Kings are still looking to unload dead money tied to Dewayne Dedmon, but they seem intent on making Bogdanovic a part of their future core.
