NBA officials are quick to award technical fouls for taunting these days, but it didn't stop Portland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside and Phoenix Suns swingman Kelly Oubre Jr. from showing some fire in their match-up at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on Monday.

The pair figured in a “taunt-off” in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter, as Whiteside had some words for the lanky forward after rejecting his shot attempt with a minute and a half left in regulation.

Not to be outdone by Whiteside's antics, Oubre came over the opposing center's direction during a dead ball and egged the crowd to make some noise after his teammate Mikal Bridges drew a foul on Whiteside.

The Blazers eventually escaped with a one-point win, 111-110, as Whiteside recorded a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, Oubre finished with 24 points in 37 minutes in a losing effort for Portland.
