At the moment, former Sixth Man of the Year winner J.R. Smith is still a free agent. After being waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers a month ago, there have been some teams reportedly showing interest on the former NBA champ, but no official offer has been put on the table to date.

Smith is remaining optimistic, and is keeping himself busy this summer as he anxiously awaits a potential call from an NBA team looking to add the services of a sharp-shooting veteran. Recently, a clip of the 33-year-old doing some J.R. Smith things has been making its rounds on the world wide web. In the clip, Smith is seen draining three straight three-pointers in a pickup game to lift his team to an impressive come-from-behind victory.

That's pretty awesome from the former 18th overall pick, and the way he closed out the game with that long-distance trey bomb — albeit on the second attempt — is typical J.R. This definitely serves as a reminder that Smith can get hot at any given instant, and and indication that perhaps, he still has some gas left in the tank. Hopefully, a few teams will pay attention to this impromptu audition reel.

Last season was a disaster for J.R. Smith, who only managed 11 games for the Cavs throughout the season. The 6-foot-6 lost his place in the pecking order, with Cleveland opting to focus on youth development. Thankfully for him, the Cavs finally set him free this summer, giving him an opportunity to potentially sign with an interested contender looking for a veteran presence off the bench. Hopefully, some teams come knocking sooner rather than later.
