The Atlanta Hawks officially acquired rookie forward Bruno Fernando. The Hawks announced in an official release that they have finalized a deal to get the rights for Fernando, the 34th overall pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2019 NBA Draft, in exchange for 57th pick Jordan Bone and two future second-round draft picks.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Michael Scotto of The Athletic revealed that Fernando signed a three-year deal worth $4.7 million with the Hawks.

Fernando became the first player from Angola to be drafted in the NBA. He spent two seasons in Maryland. In his first season, he averaged 10.3 points to go along with 6.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. He took his game to another level in his sophomore year, posting 13.6 points on top of 10.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per contest.

Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said that the team is excited to have a rookie of Fernando's caliber.
“Bruno is a talented, young big man who has improved during his time at Maryland,” Schlenk said. “He has a nice combination of size, length and athleticism, and a strong work ethic, so we’re excited to add him to our roster.”
Fernando made his Summer League debut for the Hawks on Sunday. He posted five points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four blocks in 26 minutes for the Hawks, who took a 90-66 beating from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
