Former Golden State Warriors two-way player Marcus Derrickson has agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Atlanta Hawks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Derrickson spent the vast majority of the 2018-19 season with the Warriors' G-League affiliate in Santa Cruz, where he averaged 13.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting a robust 42.1% clip from the 3-point line.
Prospecting as an undersized stretch-four, the Warriors were hoping Derrickson could improve his feet and become somewhat of a three-and-D big man. While he showed promise, the signing of Ky Bowman to the first two-way spot narrowed his chances to return on a two-way deal. Damion Lee's return on yet another two-way deal ultimately shut the coffin for Derrickson.
The Hawks have been happy to continue any projects the Warriors have started on, as former Golden State assistant GM turned full-fledged general manager Travis Schlenk was now poached the services of head performance therapist Chelsea Lane after two successful seasons with the Warriors.

Most recently a trade that sent Omari Spellman to the Warriors and brought back Damian Jones, who Schlenk is plenty familiar with.
Derrickson is much of the same case — a skilled forward with range that is still developing, but has the right set of skills to make an intriguing look. The 23-year-old forward will have a chance to challenge for a roster spot and could receive a bonus up to $50,000 if he signs a contract with the Hawks' G League affiliate upon being waived from the NBA team.
The Hawks have signed forward Charlie Brown Jr. to its first two-way spot and while point guard Brandon Goodwin is reported to be the second choice, the team has yet to make it official.
