Vince Carter is currently playing his 21st season in the NBA as a member of the Atlanta Hawks. While the league has already paid tribute to the likes of Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade, who are expected to retire after this season, Carter has made it clear he plans to play at least one more year.

Jason Kidd, Carter's former teammate with then New Jersey Nets, is impressed with his longevity and said during his guest appearance in NBA TV's The Starters that he hopes to see Vince play for a long, long time.

“I hope he does play forever. I think we need someone to beat father time,” Kidd said.

“What he's doing is incredible. At his age, he just loves the game of basketball. He loves to play and what he is doing for the Hawks is incredible.”

However, Jason Kidd also admitted that playing near the age of 40 can take its toll on someone's body. In fact, he said that he played too long, pointing out that he just knew it's time to hang it up when he can no longer compete with the younger guards in the league.

Kidd played 19 seasons in the NBA, and he was 39 when he suited up for the New York Knicks.

What Vince Carter is doing is indeed impressive, but no one can deny the fact that his production is no longer the same.

One particular reason why Vince would like to play at least a year is so that he could finish his career with the Toronto Raptors.

Whether that will happen or not, fans will just have to wait and see.
