Trae Young missed Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors due to a shoulder injury, and by the looks of it, the Atlanta Hawks guard could miss Thursday's meeting with the Phoenix Suns as well.
While Young is taking it day-to-day, he admitted that his right shoulder is still hurting, so much so that he was only able to get a few shots up during their latest practice. As Chris Kirschner of The Athletic noted, however, the Eastern Conference All-Star feels like his condition is improving and that he would try to play when they host Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Phoenix.
Trae Young said it’s too early to say whether or not he’ll play in tomorrow’s game against Phoenix. He said his shoulder is still hurting and he was only able to get a few shots up.

Trae Young sustained the injury during the first half of their Sunday showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers. Atlanta was on a seven-game winning streak heading into Monday, but Young's absence was a major blow to them as the Raptors ended their run with a 106-100 win.
It's clear the Hawks need their star scorer to play in order to keep their postseason hopes alive, especially as they try to vie for a higher seeding in the East–they are currently 10th at 24-26. Young surely understands this, which is probably why he is doing his best to return sooner rather than later.
However, the Hawks absolutely can't rush him and risk injuring his shoulder long-term. It remains to be seen what the team will do, but don't be surprised if they err on the side of caution.
