Atlanta Hawks swingman Vince Carter was asked by Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press about his comment to the Toronto Raptors security personnel that he would “see them next year.”
Carter repeated the same statement back in a very cryptic fashion.
Vince Carter, smiling, told he was overheard last night telling someone in Toronto he would see him next year. "Really? Well, I'll see you guys next year."

What Vince Carter is trying to get across is very confusing. He was already planning on retiring after this season with the Hawks. This could be his way of subtly announcing he has changed his mind and would like to play for longer in the NBA. He isn't offering much else to what he meant, so it's possible he said it accidentally.

In that loss to the Raptors, the Hawks played extremely well and up to their level. Jeremy Lin scored 20 points and dished out nine assists. Young stud point guard Trea Young was also able to add 19 on the game. Carter only contributed six points. The Hawks still have a lot of improvement to do as Young continues to improve and grow with experience.
The Raptors had a poor game but were still able to come out on top. Pascal Siakam scored 13 points and grabbed 10 boards, giving him a double-double. Kawhi Leonard dropped 31 points and Kyle Lowy also had 16.
Once one of the best dunkers in the league, Carter's veteran experience is what he has left to offer in the league. This season, the 42-year-old is averaging 7.3 points in 17.4 minutes per game on 40.9 percent shooting. Carter last made an All-Star team in the 2006-07 season when he played for the New Jersey Nets.
