The Atlanta Hawks have reportedly been left off the equation as a possible trade destination for New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, as per The Athletic‘s Chris Kirschner.

The 30-year-old swingman has been involved in countless trade rumors with many teams looking to acquire his services ahead of the 2020-2021 NBA season. Holiday has been a mainstay in New Orleans for seven years since arriving in the 2013-2014 season. He has garnered an NBA All-Defensive First Team selection in 2018 followed by an inclusion in the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2019.

Despite the youth movement in New Orleans, Holiday still managed to be a pivotal presence for the team with the arrival of Zion Williamson and the emergence of Brandon Ingram. He will be a valuable asset to any team due to his steady contributions to the Pelicans after posting norms of 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds through 61 games played last season.

The former UCLA Bruin can certainly bring a veteran leadership and stability on both ends of the field for any squad that is looking to trade for him. However, the Hawks may have no place for him on their roster as they already have Trae Young serving as the lead playmaker with veteran guard Jeff Teague returning for a second stint with the team.

With Jrue Holiday not expected to make his way to Atlanta, the Hawks will hope to scour the market for other options in their hopes of speeding their rebuilding cause for the coming seasons.
