Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic hasn’t been one to back down against anybody in the NBA — and Anthony Davis is no exception.

In fact, it could be time to incorporate Nurkic into the All-Star conversation.

The 24-year-old Bosnian has been revered around the league for his bossy character as Portland’s star big.

Nurkic and Davis battled in the 128-112 win for the Blazers. The Brow finished with a game-high 27 points, while Nurkic recorded a double-double performance.

Since being dealt by the Denver Nuggets two seasons ago, he has been worth every bit of the $48 million contract the Blazers signed him to this summer.

The 16th pick of the loaded 2014 NBA Draft has moved on to better things and more opportune minutes, while the Denver rightfully placed their future in the hands of Nikola Jokic in the frontcourt.

It seems both sides have boasted on the deal up to this point. Mike Malone is a front runner for NBA Coach of the Year with his Nuggets at 30-14 and are the surprise of the year sitting behind the Warriors as the second seed in the Western Conference. The Blazers aren’t far behind at 28-19.

Jusuf Nurkic has averaged 14.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocked shots in 146 games played with Portland.
