The Boston Celtics will reportedly waive 2016 first-round pick Guerschon Yabusele, reducing their number of players set to earn guaranteed salaries next season to 14, one below the league maximum.
While general manager Danny Ainge certainly plans to use every roster spot afforded to him under NBA rules, he won't necessarily rush to fill the open one between now and training camp, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe. In fact, there could still be broader changes to come for a team that's undergone nearly as big a roster shuffle as any other this summer.
Per source, the Cs in the coming weeks could fill the 15th roster spot created by Guerschon's departure, but there's still a good chance that there will be more change before opening night.

The Celtics could reportedly enter training camp with more players in tow than the allotted maximum of 15, too, just like they've done in the past.
Per source, the Celtics might even ultimately add 2 more players and enter training camp with 16 guaranteed contracts, as they've done in the past. It's pretty clear that with so many young guys and unknown quantities, they want to get a look at as many players as possible.

Tacko Fall, signed to an Exhibit 10 contract after he went undrafted last month, will report to camp with Boston regardless. As of now, though, Boston reportedly has no plans to use its final roster spot on the 7-foot-7 fan favorite, content to retain his G-League rights in the likely event he's waived after training camp.
And since plenty are asking, as of now there are no plans for Tacko Fall to claim the Celtics' 15th roster spot. Plan is still for him to enter camp on his Exhibit 10 deal and proceed from there.

The Celtics will look much different next season than they have in the past after the departures of Al Horford and Kyrie Irving. Forward Marcus Morris, coming off a career season, and backup guard Terry Rozier are no longer with Boston, either.
But the Celtics did well to sign Kemba Walker to a four-year, max-level deal, and selected three players in the draft – Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, and Carsen Edwards – who not only project as rotation players down the line, but could also see the floor as rookies in 2019-20.
