According to a report from Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the Boston Celtics are finalizing a multiyear deal with free agent guard Jabari Bird, who spent last season (his rookie season) on a two-way deal with the team. Now, after a solid showing in this season's Summer League tournament, the C's are willing to pull the proverbial trigger on an offer, which would fill out their roster at 15 men.

In four Summer League game this year, Bird, now 24 years of age, racked up averages of 16.8 points on 57.0 percent shooting from the field, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 steals in 29.8 minutes per outing.

The 24-year-old shooting guard had his moments to contribute near the end of last regular season. Amidst serious roster attrition, injuries and all, he received contributive minutes for three of the final four games in April. He started one of those, scoring seven points and grabbing seven rebounds in 29 minutes played that night against the Brooklyn Nets.

The details of Jabari Bird's contract have not been fully disclosed. However, Keith Smith of Real GM tweeted out some of the information shortly after news of this deal broke on Thursday morning. Smith also noted that the Celtics are keeping an eye out for a player who could fill their final two-way spot.
