There was playoff energy in the air last night in Boston when the Utah Jazz came to take on the Celtics. The stars were out for Boston as Jason Tatum had a game high 29 points and Jaylen Brown poured in 28 points to go along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

But it was this play that was noted on the broadcast as being the one that would, “Change the energy in the game.”

Let's break this one down. Jaylen Brown gets the and-1 and gives Donovan Mitchell the old, “good try” pat on the rear-end as he gets set to walk it out to the free-throw line.

Mitchell, clearly frustrated by the foul call and perhaps a tad irked at the Celtics star's for the playful gesture, gives Jaylen a nice little slap on the arm to remind him of who it is exactly that he's working against.

In the end, I say clean on both ends. A little playoff intensity in the middle of March in the association, sign us all up for that. Perhaps this could be an NBA Finals preview? That might be a stretch, but both the Jazz and the Celtics will certainly have something to say about how the Eastern and Western conferences fall into place once the postseason scrum gets settled.

The Jazz won the game last night, erupting for 40 points in the 4th quarter on their way to a 117-109 win over Boston. Mitchell finished with a team high 21 points on 6-16 shooting, including 3-5 from the land beyond.

The Celtics have a quick turnaround and will hit the road to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers tonight. The Jazz have a day off before taking on the Wizards in D.C.
