The Christmas Day matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets was touted to be a contest between two of the top teams in the East. Unfortunately for the Celtics, they proved no match to the mighty Nets on the evening, with the game ending in a disappointing 123-95 blowout. Cs two-guard Jaylen Brown spoke about how he believes his team should bounce back after suffering a heavy defeat against one division rivals.
Brown chose to see the silver lining after the loss, noting how this should serve as a good lesson for Boston early in the season:
“It’s the second game of the season, we still have a lot of work ahead of us but I’m faithful that we’re gonna continue to learn and grow,” Brown said, as transcribed by MassLive.com (h/t Tarringo Basile-vaughan of Fansided).
Brown went on to say that the Celtics are still a work in progress at this point, but that he remains confident in what this team can do:

Brown finished Friday's defeat with a team-high 27 points on 11-of-25 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds, three assists, and a block in 31 minutes of action. It was an impressive showing from the 24-year-old, but his heroics were far from enough to hold back the onslaught of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for the Nets.
The Celtics will be back in action on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers, and as Brown implied above, Boston will be looking for a quick bounce-back victory in that one.
