It took him nine seasons, but Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker can finally say that he has won a game versus Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

After taking 28 consecutive L's against LeBron James-led teams over the years, Walker finally scored a W against the King on Monday after the Celtics handed the Lakers their biggest defeat this season, 139-107.

Although thrilled to get the victory and end his personal drought in the process, the three-time NBA All-Star acknowledged that he still has a lot of catching up to do to James, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

Kemba Walker spent eight seasons with the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats franchise, where he often clashed with James who played for Eastern Conference teams Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat at that time. The two even met in the postseason in 2014, as Walker's seventh-seeded Bobcats were swept by the second-seeded Miami Heat in the first round.

Walker had a good showing against James and the Lakers at the TD Garden on Monday, pitching in 20 points, four rebounds and seven assists. He shot 8-for-13 from the field and knocked down two of his four 3-pointers in 30 minutes of play for the Celtics.

James, meanwhile, had an off-night by his usual standards, tallying just 15 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds in the 32-point defeat.

Kemba Walker will have a chance to go 2-28 against LeBron next month, when the Celtics visit the Lakers at Staples Center on February 24.

Holding one of the biggest rivalries in all of basketball, the Lakers and Celtics have both returned to their glory days this season and are considered to be strong contenders for the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Lakers still rule the West with a 34-9 slate, while the Celtics are currently fourth in the East at 28-14.
