As rumors continue to swirl around the Boston Celtics’ mercurial point guard Kyrie Irving, the talented All-Star point guard traveled back to where he grew up on Wednesday, and a video clip was posted of Kyrie linking up with a jovial crossing guard that used to see Irving every day in 7th and 8th grade.
Here’s the clip from ESPN.

Of course, this wholesome content from Kyrie comes on the heels of massive amounts of rumors regarding Kyrie’s future with the Celtics – or lack thereof.
Article Continues BelowMultiple reports have been whirling around Irving and the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks, with the Los Angeles Lakers (and another team-up with LeBron James) being a dark horse candidate to land Irving for the 2019-20 season.
Here though, Irving seems content to catch up with the old crossing guard that still works the same route more than 20 years later, and Kyrie genuinely looks interested in what the venerable public servant had to say to him.
We know that Irving is certainly a person that feels deeply, and Irving’s social media caption for his visit with the crossing guard makes it clear that Irving was feeling nostalgic about where he was and how he was feeling.
Perhaps it was because he’s about to make a decision that will anger an extremely devoted Celtics fanbase who he had previously told that he would re-sign there?
Who knows, but this was nice to see Kyrie out and about and meeting with someone whose paths had crossed decades prior.
