The Boston Celtics leaned on the monster efforts of star swingman Jaylen Brown to hack out a hard-earned win over the Orlando Magic in overtime, 116-111 on Sunday night.

Brown exploded for a career-high 50 points on an impressive 19-of-29 shooting from the field. He also added 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks to steer the Celtics, who improved to 18-19.

But despite the victory, Celtics guard Marcus Smart didn't sound too satisfied, although he admitted that ultimately, a win is a win (via ESPN).

“We let the game come to us. It wasn't pretty. It was a little ugly. But we came out with the win and that's because we kept our composure and we kept with it.”

Smart was also instrumental in the tight victory, chipping in 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. He has played well since returning from a hand injury.

With Jayson Tatum out due to COVID-19 protocols, Brown, Smart, Dennis Schroder, and Al Horford will have to carry the cudgels for the Celtics, who have yet to really find a steady rhythm under new coach Ime Udoka.

Like Smart, Udoka wasn't entirely pleased with their latest win.

“We got a little careless there. We were playing really fast and a little reckless at times and let them get back into the game, but overall we showed growth.”

The Celtics can go for a more convincing win on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.
