The Boston Celtics lost their season opener against the New York Knicks in a crazy, back-and-forth affair that went took two overtimes to settle.
Despite being handed their first defeat, there's a lot the Celtics should be encouraged by. One huge positive was the play of Robert Williams aka Time Lord.
The Celtics big man was all over the place in the best way against the Knicks, swatting shots, finishing down low, and wreaking havoc against opponents on defense.
Time Lord stuffed the stat sheet tonight.
16 PTS
10 REB

Williams also matched another do-it-all Celtics icon in Rajon Rondo, becoming the first Celtic to record a line of 15-10-3-3-3 since Rondo did it in 2012.

He’s the first Celtic with a 15/10/3/3/3 game since Rajon Rondo in 2012.

The Boston Celtics have had a revolving door of options at the center spot in recent seasons. From Daniel Theis and Enes Kanter to Tristan Thompson and even Tacko Fall, they've tried a handful of big men out over the last two years.
But Robert Williams clearly had the most potential of them all, and he flashed just how effective he can be in his season debut.
The Celtics may have started off the season 0-1, but between the 46 points from Jaylen Brown and what looks like a much-improved Time Lord, there's a lot to cheer about so far.
