With Kyrie Irving out the end of the regular season as well as the entirety of the postseason for the Boston Celtics, it gave other players on the team a chance to step up. One of the guys who took full advantage of his opportunity was Terry Rozier who made himself a lot of money with his play.
With the Celtics having to make some decisions on what guys they want to keep, they are going to end up losing some key guys, and an option would be to trade Rozier.
Chris Mannix of Yahoo! Sports doesn't think that the Celtics would even think about trading Rozier until they have Irving locked up to a long-term extension.
On Terry Rozier: I’d be surprised if Boston even considered trading him until Kyrie Irving’s name is on a new contract. Irving a UFA in 2019; Rozier a RFA that same summer.

That gives the Celtics a safety net just in case that Kyrie Irving decided that he wanted to leave, which still seems like a very unlikely option.
If Irving does sign an extension, the chances are that they will then trade Rozier, or just let him walk in free agency, because the amount of money he will commend, will be worth more than what the Celtics can pay him, especially being a backup point guard.
Rozier has had an exceptional season, and even though he struggled in Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. that doesn't take away from what he was able to do this season.
Rozier finished the season averaging 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He shot 39.5 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from deep.
It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out with the Celtics, but for now it looks like Rozier will stay with the Celtics.
