There's a lot at stake in the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. So much so, that even elected government officials are getting in on the action.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker called out his California counterpart, Governor Gavin Newsom, right before Game 3 of the Warriors-Celtics matchup. Baker proposed a bold bet to Newsom that will require the loser to dawn a jersey of the opposing team:
Hey @GavinNewsom – @celtics are going to win the @NBA finals. How about a bet?
When they win, you wear a C’s jersey of my choosing. If @warriors win, I’ll wear one of yours.
Deal?

It did not take long before Newsom would respond, and naturally, he just had to call the bet. The California Governor also made sure to notify Baker that Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was going to be heavily involved in the deal:

The Celtics emerged as the winners of Game 3, which now puts Baker at an advantage. With the Celtics up 2-1 in the series and Game 4 being held in Boston, the odds are looking good for Baker's team.
At this point, however, it would be utterly foolish to count out Curry and Co. The Warriors have been down before and they know what they need to do to win.
The internet always keeps receipts and this is definitely one bet I will be keeping my eye on once the winner of this series emerges.
