On the same night the Brooklyn Nets paid tribute to Vince Carter for the illustrious time he spent with their franchise, his smile quickly turned to frustration once the action started.
Carter took a shot to the face early into the game that he clearly didn't take too kindly.

Nets small forward Rodions Kurucs was the culprit on this one, when he caught Carter with a swift elbow midway through the second quarter.
Though it may not have been intentional, and didn't prevent him from playing out the remainder of the game, it definitely didn't make it the warmest welcome back party.

The 41-year-old small forward played with the Nets in New Jersey for five years of his impervious career, where he averaged 23.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. He was selected to three of his eight NBA All-Star Games there as well.
In what could possibly be Vinsanity's last time duking it out against his former franchise on their home floor, he definitely didn't end things the way he started them there.
Coming into the matchup averaging 7.3 points per game, he notched only three points on 1-of-4 shooting in just 15 minutes of play, as the Atlanta Hawks were dropped by Brooklyn 116-100 on Wednesday night.
With the loss, Atlanta falls to 12-29, and will play the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
