The NBA has fined Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson $25,000 for “verbally abusing” referees from his ejection on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers at home.

Kenny Atkinson was ejected by referee Tony Brothers with 1:09 left in regulation after he came running off the bench to argue a call. The Nets lost to the Pacers by a final score of 114-106.

The players on the Nets love playing for Kenny Atkinson because he's passionate about the game and cares for his guys. Brooklyn has been playing really good basketball as of late. Friday's loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Nets, who are now 15-19 on the season and sit at the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Brooklyn will look to get back in the win column on Sunday when they host the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix is playing in Washington on Saturday against the Wizards, so they will be playing a back-to-back on Sunday, giving Kenny Atkinson and the Nets an advantage.
