Kevin Durant will announce his free-agent decision on Sunday, and it could be bad news for Warriors, Clippers, and Knicks fans.

“An undeniable vibe of confidence” is coming from the Brooklyn Nets, The New York Times’ Marc Stein tweeted:

FOX Sports' Chris Broussard chimed in and said there are “strong rumblings” of Durant heading to Brooklyn while Kawhi Leonard goes to the Los Angeles Lakers, though he backtracked and presented conflicting information saying KD might be heading back to Golden State:

Broussard's coworker, Colin Cowherd, is hearing Nets:

The Nets are attempting to combine the forces of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and DeAndre Jordan. The trio of All-Stars played together three summers ago on the gold medal-winning Team USA at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Irving reportedly has committed to signing a four-year, $141 million contract with the Nets. The point guard is leaving Boston, but the Celtics are in the process of securing another point guard: Kemba Walker from the Charlotte Hornets.

There are also murmurs that Boston wants a three-team sign-and-trade deal between itself, Brooklyn and Charlotte — with restricted free agent Terry Rozier going to the Hornets — however, one reason a proposed deal could stall would be the Celtics having to part with a first-round pick to facilitate the trade.

Durant has had his eyes on four potential teams in free agency: the Nets, Knicks, Clippers, and incumbent Warriors. Various voices plugged into the league are starting to whisper that Durant is going to the Nets, with Brooklyn joining in the conversation and “emanating” confidence.
