With the 2019 NBA Playoffs on the horizon, the Brooklyn Nets have decided to convert guard Theo Pinson's two-way deal to a standard contract, the team announced:

Pinson, now 23 years of age, played his collegiate ball at the University of North Carolina, where he won an NCAA championship in 2017 as a senior. After going undrafted in 2018, he joined the Nets' Summer League squad, where he recorded 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in five appearances. He then signed a training camp deal with the Nets in August 2018, which meant he would split his time with the team's  -League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

Pinson has made 17 appearances in the NBA, averaging 4.5 points on 34.8 percent shooting from the field (28.6 percent from beyond the arc), 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11.3 minutes per game.

Brooklyn's addition of Pinson brings its roster to 15 men, which is the maximum number allowed. He will be eligible to play in the postseason, but it's not clear how much playing time he'll receive. There's a decent chance he doesn't play much, if at all.

The Nets will close out their regular-season campaign on Wednesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Miami Heat. Tip-off inside the Barclays Center is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
