The Brooklyn Nets announced new additions to their coaching umbrella, hiring Ryan Foreham-Kelly as the team's player development coordinator and naming Shaun Fein as the Long Island Nets head coach.

Foreham-Kelly will join a Nets team brimming with talent. Brooklyn recently received praise for developing D'Angelo Russell, who earned his first All-Star Game appearance last February. Brooklyn, however, traded the combo guard to the Golden State Warriors in order to acquire 10-time All-Star and two-time Finals MVP forward Kevin Durant in a sign-and-trade.

As player development coordinator, Foreham-Kelly will likely have a role within the organization in keying onto individuals between the big-league team and G League affiliate Long Island squad — paying special attention to younger players who need to learn the ropes of the NBA and carving out a role.

Under Foreham-Kelly, the Nets will look to develop their 2019 draft's selections: Georgia's Nicolas Claxton and UCLA's Jaylen Hands. Claxton, first pick in the second round of the draft, is a 20-year-old center who could find most of his time in the developmental league — with the center rotation rounded out by former All-Star center DeAndre Jordan and rising star Jarrett Allen.

Brooklyn also acquired Bruins point guard Hands with the 56th overall pick in the draft, traded by the Los Angeles Clippers. Furthermore, as another potential G League-bound player, the Nets signed ex-New York Knicks power forward Henry Ellenson to a two-way contract this offseason.

Returning players who will enter their second years in the NBA for Brooklyn include Dzanan Musa, Rodions Kurucs and Theo Pinson.
