The NBA is in the thick of the offseason and NBA free agency has come to a standstill. But, that didn't stop the Brooklyn Nets from announcing a major move that will have huge ramifications.
According to the Nets' official statement, they are requiring employees and fans to have the COVID-19 vaccination for the upcoming season.

The Nets state that they are doing this in accordance with the mandate handed down from Mayor Bill de Blasio, and the hope is this will prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which is still running wild through the country.

The New Orleans Saints announced this and the NFL will probably see more dominoes fall in that regard. As far as the NBA is concerned, it looks like only a matter of time before all NBA teams follow suit with the Nets, especially if cases keep increasing at the alarming rate they have been.
On the court, the Nets have high hopes once again with the dynamic trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. Spencer Dinwiddie went to the Washington Wizards and Blake Griffin inked a deal to return to Brooklyn, so the team looks similar to last year's group.
Unfortunately, this move will prevent fans from entering if they aren't vaccinated, so it will be telling to see the fallout of the decision by Brooklyn.
