All season long, we have heard rampant speculation about Kevin Durant possibly heading to New York in free agency this summer, but the New York team he could ultimately be signing with may not be the same New York team many were expecting.

As a matter of fact, New York is ranked third in the odds, with the Golden State Warriors coming in second. The Los Angeles Clippers are fourth.
Durant's offseason took a wild turn during the NBA Finals, when he tore his Achilles tendon after attempting to make a comeback in Game 5. The 30-year-old had been sidelined since Game 6 of the second round due to a calf strain and tried to return with the Warriors down 3-1 to the Toronto Raptors in the finals.
Article Continues BelowThings looked great for Durant early on, as he scored 11 points in the first quarter and looked spry and healthy, but during the second period, Durant went to put a move on Serge Ibaka and crumpled to the floor, grabbing his right Achilles.
As a result of the injury, Durant will most likely miss the entire 2019-20 campaign, which may give teams some pause in determining whether or not they pursue him in free agency, especially considering that the prognosis for NBA players coming back from torn Achilles tendons has not been historically good.
But it doesn't seem like the Nets will be scared off by Durant's health.
