Tuesday evening the Brooklyn Nets shocked everyone by beating the Los Angeles Lakers in a close contest by a score of 115-110. Six Nets players ended up scoring in double digits, including the venerable Jared Dudley who scored 13 points.
After the game, Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson joked about Dudley while talking about the veteran's contribution to the victory, per Bleacher Report.
“He’s that guy at the park. He’s got tattered sneakers, he’s 42 years old, but he stays on the court because his team is winning.”
Dudley has been so consistent as a bench piece that it's kept him in the NBA to the ripe age of 42.

Bouncing around from the Bobcats to the Toronto Raptors, to the Phoenix Suns, to the Los Angeles Clippers, to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Washington Wizards, and now the Brooklyn Nets.
He's averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. He's made a career off of hitting from three-point territory consistently from the wing. His 57.6 true shooting percentage is 67th all-time. He's worn 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9 as a professional.
The Brooklyn Nets on the season 14-18 and are 10th in the NBA’s Eastern Conference under head coach Kenny Atkinson. They are averaging 11 points per game, 14th in the entire NBA. However, they do allow 111.8 points per game, which ranks a lowly 23rd in the league.
The Nets will next play the struggling Chicago Bulls next this coming Wednesday on December 19th, 2018.
