Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is no stranger to his new teammate in James Harden. Several years after their last stint in the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant still continues to impress Harden now that they find themselves playing together in Brooklyn. He revealed that his massive respect for KD motivates him to make things work as best as he can.

“I sit back and I know what player Kevin Durant is. He’s one of the best players to ever touch a basketball. He’s God-given 7-foot, can do everything. So for me it’s not trying to compete with that; it’s allowing Kevin to be the best Kevin he can be, and I’m going to make sure I can make him better and make my teammates better. At the end of the day that’s all that matters,” Harden said via the New York Post.

Durant had a huge performance as they went toe-to-toe with another Eastern Conference contender in the Bucks. From start to finish, the two teams refused to go down which eventually arranged a tightly-contested affair. Durant's go-ahead three-point shot with 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference-maker as the Nets ultimately ran away with a 125-123 victory.

Harden topped the team in scoring after coming out with a double-double performance of 34 points and 12 assists. Durant followed with 30 points, nine rebounds, and six assists of his own. The duo's high-scoring production was enough to fend off Giannis Antetokounmpo's 34 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in the game.

The Nets improved to a 9-6 record while the Bucks slid to a 9-5 tally for the second spot in the Eastern Conference. Steve Nash and his team will aim to extend their four-game winning streak when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 20.
