The Brooklyn Nets announced superstar James Harden will miss Sunday night's game against the Washington Wizards due to a thigh contusion. It's unclear if this injury will keep Harden out longer than just this game against Russell Westbrook and Co., but there are no signs that it's anything serious after the Nets star was ruled questionable on Saturday.

Harden played in the Nets' last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, notching a triple-double with 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 147-125 victory against his former team. Brooklyn put up 147 points despite not having Kevin Durant in action. Kyrie Irving poured in 25 points of his own and handed out seven dimes.

Harden is putting up 24.3 points per contest in his eight games played for Brooklyn. While Harden's scoring numbers are down a bit from his norms with the Houston Rockets, his efficiency is up and so is his playmaking (11.8 assists per game). The three stars for Brooklyn are still trying to find out how they fit with one another. Each star has to sacrifice for the better of the team in order to win a championship. Harden is sacrificing his scoring to make the Nets better, and they're 6-2 in his eight games since the trade.

Harden’s presence will obviously be missed against Westbrook, Bradley Beal and the Wizards, but the duo of Durant and Kyrie Irving should be enough to lead Brooklyn to a victory over the team with the worst record in the NBA.
