It goes without saying that the 2017-18 NBA season for the Brooklyn Nets did not go as planned. However, that does not mean that there are any hard feelings between the players.
That said, it seems former NBA player Jalen Rose did not get the memo when he suggested that Brooklyn was hardly a shining example of having good teammates. It did not take long for point guard Jeremy Lin to refute these comments via Twitter:
Hmm Jalen much respect to you but no idea where this came from lol. I just had the whole team over for a fat bbq last week. These are my homies…even @IAmCHAP24 lol https://t.co/rfB16GOZmA

At 28-54, Brooklyn finished with the fourth-worst record in the Eastern Conference. Knowing this, Rose made the assumption that the Nets players were not having very much fun playing with each other amidst all the losing. However, it is clear he may have been wrong in this particular case given Lin's response.
It is encouraging to see that Brooklyn is not too hung up on their disappointing year. Of course, much was to be expected given all the changes the team made during the offseason. Fortunately, they now feel like they have brought in enough talented, young pieces to help turn their franchise around. It appears that Lin seems to be a large part of helping to build the camaraderie between teammates.
It also says a lot that Lin was the one willing to respond. He came over from the Charlotte Hornets during the 2016-17 NBA season and was hoping to bounce back from the tumultuous stint he had endured. Although his season was cut short by a knee injury in the opener, he was still seen regularly cheering on his teammates. Needless to say, Brooklyn will need all the team chemistry they can build if they hope to turn things around.
