Former big man and close friend of Kevin Durant Kendrick Perkins wouldn't be surprised if the Brooklyn Nets are at the top of KD's free agency list.
Durant will be meeting with the Nets, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors in New York City once free agency starts on Sunday. Many around the league believe Brooklyn will land Durant and All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving.
Perkins played with Durant on the Oklahoma City Thunder. The two keep in touch on a regular basis.

“They turned their franchise around. Their front office has done an excellent job. Their coaching staff has done a great job. Brooklyn itself is a great place to play in, a great arena and everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brooklyn is at the top of his list.”
The Nets can sign Irving and Durant to max contracts. Durant is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles tendon tear, but that's not going to stop Brooklyn, the Knicks, Clippers and Warriors from offering the two-time Finals MVP a max contract this summer.
If the Nets get KD and Kyrie, they will be title contenders in 2020-21 when Durant returns to the court. Brooklyn will probably go on a deep playoff run next season with Irving as the main cog.
