The Brooklyn Nets aren't in good shape right now, fighting tooth and nail to try and lock down a No. 7 or No. 8 seed for the play-in tournament. Currently, they're in 10th, which means Steve Nash's squad would need to win two games in order to book their ticket to the postseason. But if you're asking Kevin Durant, he could care less what the path looks like.
KD isn’t concerned what seed the Nets land in heading into the play-in: “Who cares? … Just play the game. We’ll see what happens.”

The Nets star is evidently confident in his squad. After all, with KD leading the way alongside Kyrie Irving, anything is possible. However, Brooklyn really needs to lock down defensively if any type of playoff run is going to become a reality.
For example, on Saturday, Durant balled out for a mind-boggling 55 points against the Atlanta Hawks, while Kyrie had 31. Yet, they still lost, giving up 122 points to their potential play-in opponents, with Trae Young destroying them.
Also, the rest of the Nets rotation must step up. There's no question Durant and Irving are capable of carrying the load, but they need help on both ends. No other player finished in double-figures against Atlanta. Both of these stars are very familiar with what it takes to make it happen in the postseason, but this is a team. Ben Simmons is now out for the remainder of the campaign and the play-in but hopefully, he could potentially return for the first round if the Nets get there.
